    This page is a chapter in the book Duel Monsters II: Tournament Rulebook.
    Some Monster Cards are in specific classes which may or may not be mentioned in the Card Description. The effects of some Monster, Magic, and Trap Cards only affect monsters in a specific Monster Class. Otherwise, monsters in a specific Monster Class behave just like any other monster.

    [hide][top]Archfiend Monsters

    Most monsters in the Archfiend class can be identified by their name. Any card with "Archfiend" in the card name, is in the Archfiend class. The following cards (not exclusively Monster cards) are also in the Archfiend class:
    • Axe of Despair
    • B. Skull Dragon
    • Beast of Talwar
    • Fiend Skull Dragon
    • Lesser Fiend
    • Shadow Tamer
    • Silver Skull
    • Skull Knight
    • Summoned Skull
    • Toon Skull Dragon
    • Toon Summoned Skull

    Certain cards, like "Shadow of Eyes," only affect monsters based on gender. See the "Female-related Normal Monster Cards in the TCG/OCG," "Female-related Effect Monster Cards in the TCG/OCG," and "Female-related Monster Cards in the Anime/Manga/Video Games" lists on [http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Female Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia] for a complete list of these monsters.

    The following cards from the Duel Monsters Tournament 2 booster packs are also considered Female Monsters:
    • Clefable
    • Clefairy
    • D.D. Mow
    • Jigglypuff
    • Water Princess

    This class includes Fairy and Winged Beast-type monsters, Dragon-type monsters, and WIND monsters. Even though they meet the criteria, the following monsters are NOT in the Flying class:

    If you are using Japanese Exceptions and are unsure whether the monster is in this class, ask a tournament judge.

    When a monster in Metallizing class is equipped with "Metalmorph," it is treated as its Metal Equivalent. The monster remains on the field, but it takes on the Name, Attack Points, Defense Points, Attribute, Types, and any effects of its Metal Equivalent.

    The "Toon World" card allows you to treat monsters in the Toonible class as their Toon Equivalents. The Toonible Monster remains on the field, but it takes on the Name, Attack Points, Defense Points, Attribute, Types, and any effects of its Toon Equivalent.

    The "Call of the Haunted" card allows you to treat monsters in the Zombifiable class as their Zombie Equivalents. The Zombifiable Monster remains on the field, but it takes on the Name, Attack Points, Defense Points, Attribute, Types, and any effects of its Zombie Equivalent.
