Blind Listening

Well, just a little while ago, as I was taking a cart of books upstairs, I noticed that the display screen for my iPod was broken. It looks kind of like a broken window that's black at some parts.
My initial thought was that I must have hit the iPod against the cart when it was in my pocket. Then, I thought maybe the battery needed to be recharged. I pressed some buttons, trying to turn it on, and I found that I could still play music, just not see anything. I immediately began to think of how I would soon be learning to use the click wheel and the buttons to select my playlist without even seeing it. The difficult part would be figuring out how much of a turn on the wheel corresponds to a shift of the cursor. Actually, that's probably pretty easy.
So basically now I have a large, rectangular iPod Shuffle instead of an iPod Video. Well, at least now I don't have to deal with people asking to see my iPod. And I don't plan on replacing it any time soon (at least not for a few months).
What impressed me about this whole event was my complete lack of any emotional reaction to my discovery. Well, I'm not a normal person. What would your reaction have been?
